Ramses Landman, founder and sail designer behind SudWest Sails, took up sailing at a young age. Alongside sailing, he also developed a great passion for windsurfing, where his talent was soon recognised. This led to an international windsurfing career with competitions all over the world.

At a young age, he designed and built his first windsurf sails together with his father, the start of a lifelong passion for sail design, performance and material development.

After his active surfing career, he gained years of experience at various sail-making workshops, where he built up in-depth knowledge of the design, construction and production of high-quality sails.

In 2009, he set up his own sail-making workshop in Koudum, Friesland. Drawing on this experience, he soon developed his own range of custom sails, designed with a focus on performance, reliability and durability. This gave rise to the SudWest Sails brand.

Today, SudWest Sails stands for modern sail design, high-quality construction and practical engineering. With years of experience in both design and production, international recognition for the quality, finish and performance of the sails continues to grow.
